The company
Gakennoshi Power Projects (Gakennoshi PP) is in the Electrical construction sector. We design, manufacture, test and supply electrical panels according to customer's specification. The company also install various indoor and outdoor electrical equipment in substations. Most of our work is for Transnet Freight Rail (former Spoornet).
Gakennoshi PP is expanding to ESKOM, municipality and mining sector. We offer quick, quality and reliable service on competitive price. Our objective is to see all state owned companies serving the community well in the Electrical Engineering sector.
The team
We have dedicated and experience staff. Our Electrical Engineer (Sello Mokoena) is a Technologist with over ten years of Transnet 3kV traction substations. He worked for Spoornet for over eighteen (18) months testing substations. He was then recruited to the private sector where he was exposed to designing various traction substation products. Our key site staff have a combined experience of over thirty years, doing installation work for ESKOM, Transnet, Municipality and Private companies.
Products and services
We design and manufacture substation control panels, distribution panels, change over panels, MOD controls and 3kv dc under voltage relays.
We supply isolators (ac disconnectors), Switchgears, Current Transformers (CT's), Voltage Transformers (VT's), Power Transformers (up to 20KVA), stringing material, copper and aluminium bus bars, through wall bushings, rectifiers, dc earth leakages, ac earth leakage ct's and other spare parts e.g. contactors, timers, PL's etc.
Gakennoshi PP do not just copy other company's circuit and start wiring. We listen to customer's needs or problems and come up with electrical solutions.

Resources
Gakennoshi PP have various types of LDV's, 14 ton crane truck all necessary tools to perform our regular type of construction work. We hire some of machines that we do not use regularly.
Employee training
We belief in continuous training of our labour force. Four of our previously disadvantage employees completed their in-service training in our company. One of those who completed in-service training is an African female who we paid for her study fees at university of technology. Others are African males who passed N6 in the FET college.
We train promising youth employees in the field of Electrical Engineering.
All these employees and students are youth who were never employed before. 80% of our employees are African youth.
